Wireless Networking

There are three major wireless networking or WiFi providers at UF: Health Science Center, Shands Teaching Hospital, and UF. They run multiple networks for research, academics, clinics, student life and the public. Which network you can use depends on where you are, with whom you are affiliated and to a certain extent the capabilites of the hardware and software in your mobile device.

The University of Florida Health Science Center (HSC) runs a wireless network in HSC buildings for use by faculty, staff, students, and authenticated guests of the University of Florida. It requires a Gatorlink Authentication. See HSC Wireless.

Shands Teaching Hospital runs wireless networks in Shands buildings for clinical operations and for patients. Access to the clinical network requires a Shands login. See Shands Wireless for information on clinic network. Note that PHHP space from the CHP clinic north to the the G036 suite are served by Shands wireless and not HSC wireless.

UF runs a wireless network, UFW, for many campus buildings outside of UF. It requires a Gatorlink login for access. See Wireless Networking at UF for details.
