The College of Public Health and Health Professions supports the forwarding of email from phhp.ufl.edu addresses to other ufl.edu email addresses on a limited basis.
Current Faculty and Staff
Current faculty and staff of the College who want their phhp.ufl.edu email directed to another email system at the University of Florida can forward their email to that system indefinitely.
Note: UF HIPAA email policy does not allow HSC Faculty and Staff to use automatic email forwards to addresses outside of the ufl.edu domain. See Uses and Disclosures of PHI: Electronic Mail from UF’s Privacy Office for more information.
Former Faculty and Staff
Due to UF’s HIPAA email policy the College of PHHP is not able to offer any mail forwards to former faculty, staff, or students. Any such forward would most likely be outside of ufl.edu and violate Uses and Disclosures of PHI: Electronic Mail.
Note: If the employee is leaving PHHP, but not UF, a forward can be provided with consulatation between the department and PHHP IT Staff.
Termination of Email Forwarding
The College of Public Health and Health Professions IT staff reserves the right to cancel without notice any email forward on our system that is broken or adversely effecting College systems. Further, the College IT staff reserves the right to reset without notice any passwords required to remove such a mail forward. Such actions will generally be without notice as the phhp.ufl.edu address and the forwarding address are either non-functional or not being read.
Instances wherein the IT staff might take this action include mail loops, invalid email addresses, and full mail boxes. Forwards resulting in temporary delivery failures (e.g., full mailbox or server not accepting mail) will get a two week grace period before removal.
